The Scottish Government has provided more details on its Emergency Heating Oil Scheme, which aims to help households manage rising heating costs.
From 1 April 2026, eligible households will be able to apply for a £300 payment towards their heating bills.
The scheme is available to homes using both heating oil and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG).

The scheme is being managed by Advice Direct Scotland (ADS) and is expected to run for up to six months, with potentially two application windows during that time, subject to funding availability.
